Extremity Medical, LLC announces its plans for the steady release of new and innovative products in 2017. Currently, Extremity Medical has 14 products released globally which include specialized fixation and advanced arthroplasty systems for the distal lower and upper extremities. Extremity Medical has been issued 19 patents with an additional 16 patents pending for its core product technology.
In 2016 Extremity Medical added the AlignX Ankle Fusion System to its flagship products: HammerFiX™ and IO FiX™. This system has performed extremely well clinically since its release with surgeon feedback indicating that AlignX provides significant advantages in both biomechanical and OR efficiencies for the treatment of a variety of indications including primary ankle fusion, fusion
with a valgus deformity, failed ORIF of trimal ankle fractures, and a TTC fusion for the revision of a failed ankle fusion.
Matt Lyons, Chairman and CEO of Extremity Medical commented, “our goal is to continue to develop innovative products that will significantly impact the extremity surgeon’s ability to treat challenging patient conditions.”
Extremity Medical will release a novel system focused on the Charcot patient. The AXIS Charcot Fixation System is a comprehensive system, which unlike current systems available today, will provide biomechanical advantages allowing for “superconstruct” type fixation.
Building off of the clinical success of the KinematX Modular Hemi Wrist Arthroplasty System in the EU, Extremity Medical will also release a mid-carpal based total wrist arthroplasty system in the U.S. and select international markets, including the EU and Australia. The KinematX Total Wrist Arthroplasty system is a breakthrough device for the restoration of human wrist motion for the patient requiring a total wrist replacement.
“We feel these will be impactful products for the business in 2017. Additional cutting-edge products are also scheduled for release this year- including comprehensive MTP fusion and Jones fracture systems,” added Matt Lyons
